​I’m ShengKang Yang — born in China, raised in Los Angeles, shaped by friction, movement, and ambition. My name means victory (胜) and health (康), a name gifted by my grandfather with a vision that I’d live a life of strength, honor, and purpose. I’ve taken that seriously ever since.

But let’s be clear — it wasn’t a straight path.

I didn’t grow up with perfect fluency, a clear roadmap, or a silver spoon. I grew up with language barriers, culture shock, and moments of “figure it out or get left behind.” Moving from China to LA, then San Bernardino, meant constantly reinventing myself — socially, mentally, and professionally. I’ve known the weight of being an outsider. I’ve also known the fire it lights.

My father once told me:
“大丈夫在世，应当有所为，有所不为。”
A real man must know what is worth fighting for — and what’s worth walking away from.

I walked away from conformity.
I walked into risk.
I’ve built and led cross-border companies in e-commerce, negotiated real estate deals, pitched AI vision to multimillionaires, and traded on volatile markets with my own money on the line. I’ve failed, adapted, and come back sharper. Every pivot refined my focus. Every detour brought me closer to clarity.

And now?

Now I know exactly what I want — and exactly what I’m building.

Settlyfe is my next move. My most meaningful one.
